Cheiftains are a popular large, oblong red tubers with great flavor and storage potential. Delicious boiled as a new potato with firm, moist flesh. They can also be served roasted,  They are higher yielding in heavy clay soils than other reds, offer field resistance to late blight,  and a high resistance to scab and tuber net necrosis. Medium-spreading plant with large, light violet flowers.
