The Queen of Malinalco Tomatillo hails from the small Aztec town of Malinalco, in the Ixtapan region of Mexico. This is a new one for us and we are excited to try it. It has a peculiar 3"-long oblong pointed fruit ripens from green to lemon yellow. We have been led to believe that it has a flavor that surprises and delights! Sweet and tropical, like a ground cherry, perfect for fresh eating, roasting, grilling and for fruity salsas. Robust multi-branched bushes easily reach 3' tall and appreciate support. Harvest like a normal tomatillo when fruit is plump and husk splits. It is recommended for a significant crop to plant two plants.
